DNSFilter, Inc. | Remote (US) | Reports to the CEO
Our Mission
DNS is one of the most strategic control points in cybersecurity. Nearly every digital action, from a student opening a browser to an employee clicking a link, begins with a DNS query. We see those threats first and stop them at the moment of resolution, before malware loads or a phishing page renders. Most security tools react. DNS prevents.
The Opportunity
Ten years in and on track to reach $50M in annual revenue this year, DNSFilter is entering a defining phase of growth. We are hiring a Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial strategy behind it.
Reporting to the CEO, the CFO owns Finance and Accounting in full and is accountable for the numbers that guide the company's decisions. It is a role with genuine authority, a seat at the executive table, and a direct line to the board.
Why DNSFilter Now
Real ownership, not a supporting role. The CFO holds full authority over Finance and Accounting and a central seat at the executive table.
A business with substance. Three acquisitions already integrated and a platform protecting more than 43,000 organizations.
A voice in what comes next. The CFO helps shape the company's most important decisions, from capital allocation to potential partnerships and transactions.
What Success Looks Like in Year One
- A strategic finance function. Financial analysis informs the company's most important decisions, and Finance is recognized as a driver of strategy and major business outcomes.
- Financial operations that scale. The monthly close, forecasting, and internal controls run with rigor and clarity, giving leadership dependable access to the numbers behind every decision.
- The confidence of the board and executive team. The CEO, board, and cross-functional leaders regard the CFO as a credible and dependable partner.
The Role
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the company's primary financial voice to the board and executive team, owning board reporting and the SaaS metrics that matter most, including ARR, net revenue retention, CAC, and gross margin
- Advise the executive team on pricing, unit economics, and capital allocation
- Leverage AI and automation to scale financial operations
- Set and execute DNSFilter's financial strategy in partnership with the CEO and board
- Own financial operations in full, including accounting, the monthly close, FP&A, treasury, budgeting, internal controls, and financial systems
- Lead the financial workstreams for major initiatives, including M&A integration, financing activity, and other significant transactions as they arise
- Build and lead a finance team known for stability, accountability, and strong partnership across the company
- Partner with Legal and the CEO on contract review, compliance, and risk management
- Work closely with the executive leadership team to turn financial insight into decisions the business can act on
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a CFO at a company in the $50M to $200M revenue range, ideally in SaaS or cybersecurity
- Direct, hands-on experience leading finance through a significant transaction, such as M&A
- A track record of building rigorous financial operations, including a clean close, strong internal controls, and reliable forecasting, and not simply providing strategic oversight
- Experience integrating acquired companies' financials into a single reporting structure
- Experience working closely with a board and CEO in a scaleup environment
- A reputation for strong cross-functional partnership and clear, proactive communication, supported by references
- Private equity or venture-backed company experience
- Experience with channel or MSP distributed SaaS revenue models
- Familiarity with the cybersecurity ecosystem and major market players
- Experience with a multi product platform
