Who backs Axion

Axion has raised $64M in total. The $7.5M seed in February 2023 was co-led by Inspired Capital and Amplo with Boeing and Tinicum Venture Partners; the $17.5M Series A in March 2024 was led by Bessemer Venture Partners with RTX Ventures, Amplo and Inspired Capital, taking total funding to $25M at what TechCrunch reported as a $100M valuation; and the $37M Series B announced on December 15, 2025 was led by Salesforce Ventures with Bessemer, Schneider Electric Ventures, StepStone, Inspired and Amplo returning. Salesforce Ventures wrote that it backed the round because customers were seeing multi-million-dollar warranty savings within weeks rather than after 12-month pilots, with one executive describing the product as "eight engineers in a box".

What is Axion?

Axion, formerly Axion Ray, builds an AI platform that helps manufacturers detect product quality issues earlier, investigate root causes faster and fix them before they reach more customers. It unifies customer, service, field and telematics data that usually sits in separate departments, then uses human-in-the-loop AI to give a single view of every product issue. The company was founded in 2021 and rebranded from Axion Ray to Axion around its December 2025 funding round; the legal entity and the LinkedIn page still carry the old name.

Customers are large industrial, aerospace, medtech and consumer manufacturers: Daikin, Harley-Davidson, SharkNinja, Cummins, Medtronic, Boeing, RTX, Baxter, Newell, Pratt & Whitney and DENSO are all named publicly. Cummins says it saw a ten-fold return in its first year of pilots and, in the words of customer experience leader Justin Blomenberg, is "saving millions of dollars a year right now based on what we're able to do with Axion"; a global HVAC supplier reported over $10M in verified ROI within five months. The careers page says the company has grown more than 3x year over year, and in August 2026 the CEO called the quarter the best in Axion's history, with the largest customer ever signed (supporting data center build-outs) and 3.5x more new customers than the prior period, including multiple Fortune 500 OEMs.

Who founded Axion

Teaches an "Enterprise AI Strategy" course at Columbia Business School. Columbia University graduate, class of 2017.

Where does Axion hire remotely?

Why Axion is exciting to work for

Axion is one of the few enterprise AI companies with named customers reporting hard numbers: Cummins expanded from a skeptical pilot to enterprise-wide use and now has OEM partners asking for integrations, and the CEO says CTOs at two customers told him Axion is the only enterprise AI initiative they have successfully moved into production at scale. The work touches physical products that can fail in dangerous ways, from aircraft to medical devices, which is the reason the team gives for why the pace matters.

The company is still small enough that people create functions. The careers page says you can "step into leadership, own big workstreams, or even create new functions as we scale", and the current postings back that up: a first Head of Customer Success to turn "heroic effort" into a repeatable machine, a first senior HR business partner to run the first formal performance review cycle, and a content marketer to build the content strategy from the ground up. Teammates come from high-growth SaaS, ex-MBB consulting and leading manufacturers, and the company documents playbooks so new people ramp on them.

What to expect from the culture

Axion's six stated values are collaborate deeply, leave ego at the door, bias toward action, communicate with clarity, act like owners, and sustain excellence. The postings spell out the expectations plainly: "Titles don't define value; contribution does", "Everyone is accountable for outcomes, not just tasks", and "We push hard but don't glorify burnout". The careers page sums up what it screens for as "Grit, horsepower, and curiosity. Low-ego collaboration. Comfort with ambiguity."

The company is open that the hours are not standard. Its "How we operate" block says Axion is not a 9 to 5, that "hard problems sometimes require weekend pushes or late-night thinking sessions", and that it supports "intensity with respect for recharge". The Director of Product posting adds: "We are a company that argues about specifics, and the people who do well here find that energizing rather than exhausting." Two employees are quoted on the careers page; James Stevenson calls it "an incredible patchwork of disciplines and backgrounds, but it always feels like one team".

How to get hired at Axion

Axion's interview process runs 4 to 6 stages depending on the role: an intro chat with a recruiter or hiring manager, a skills interview (functional or technical), a team interview with future teammates, a culture and values conversation, and a final conversation with leadership about impact, growth and fit. The company describes it as a two-way conversation meant to be "simple, fast, and respectful of your time", and says that if there is alignment on both sides it moves quickly to an offer.

Its own preparation advice is to bring specific examples: the achievements you are proudest of, the outcomes you delivered, and where you took ownership or drove measurable results. Engineering postings ask for 4+ years (infrastructure, agentic platform), 5+ years (data ingestion) or 6+ years (data intelligence) plus recent hands-on work with production LLM and agentic systems, and the content marketing role asks for 6 to 8+ years.
