Deepgram's careers page lists six pillars: Collaborative, Curious, Grow Together, Do the Right Thing, Think Smart. Act Fast, and Put Customer First. Its 2023 remote-first post by recruiter Winston Bonnheim put it more bluntly: the company values "productivity over politics" and "actual engagement over 'making an appearance'", and "is pretty allergic to micromanagement and clock-watching. 'Do great work, but live your life' is our attitude."
Every 2026 posting carries a "Company Operating Rhythm" block that sets an explicit expectation: "Every team member who works at Deepgram is expected to actively use and experiment with advanced AI tools, and even build your own into your everyday work. We measure how effectively AI is applied to deliver results." The same block warns that "this may not be the right role if you're not excited to experiment, adapt, think on your feet, and learn constantly, or if you're seeking something highly prescriptive with a traditional 9-to-5."
Employees describe ownership and trust. Brent George, Senior Applied Engineer: "There's a strong sense of ownership within Deepgram Engineering. If you see something that can be improved, you're enabled to go solve it." Ingrid Dorai-Rekaa, Staff Product Designer, points to "the empowering environment that emphasizes trust and responsibility."
