Render is a cloud platform that hosts everything from hundred-line prototypes to applications with hundreds of services: web services, background workers, cron jobs, managed Postgres, a Valkey key-value store, object storage, preview environments and auto deploys from Git, with persistent compute and autoscaling and no infrastructure code to write. The newer bets are aimed at AI workloads: Render Workflows, a durable execution engine in early access, plus managed sandboxes, a shared filesystem for agent orchestration and an AI gateway on the roadmap. Under the hood it runs one of the largest Kubernetes installations anywhere, spread across hyperscalers and, since mid-May 2026, its own racked bare metal servers.
Adoption is the headline number. Render passed 2 million developers in January 2025, 4.5 million in February 2026 with more than 250,000 joining each month, and by June 2026 Anurag Goel was quoting 6 million developers growing by over 400,000 a month. Revenue growth was running well above 100% a year at the time of the last raise. Named customers include Base44, Bridge, Watershed, Socket, Felt and Red Bull.
