Senior Android Developer (Freelance Contract) – Hungary

Contract Length: 3 Months
Start Date: Immediate Start ASAP
Day Rate: 120,000 HUF – 160,000 HUF per day
Location: Hungary (Essential), Remote Working

About the Role
Beyond Sports is looking for an experienced Senior Android Developer to build and lead solutions that engage millions of sports fans worldwide.

This is a hands-on freelance contract opportunity for a developer with strong Android expertise and a passion for crafting custom UI experiences. You'll work with a wide range of data sources and frontend technologies across web and native applications, contributing to a collaborative environment that prides itself on producing leading products.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage code releases to internal environments (Dev, Test)

• Produce code to a high standard that functions correctly and can be understood and extended by other members of the team

• Show good attention to detail in the final product, taking care and pride in what is produced, ensuring others do the same

• Communicate clearly to ensure the best possible solutions are built

• Integrate with third-party libraries and applications, including video providers

• Document Android solutions and code clearly for the wider team

Required Skills & Experience:

Essential

• Expert knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming

• Expert experience designing and architecting Android applications

• Expert knowledge of reactive and functional programming (Rx, Coroutines, Flow, etc.)

• Expert experience with web service integration (REST, JSON, etc.)

• Expert Git usage and code management

• Expert experience integrating third-party libraries/applications (e.g. video providers)

• Expert-level documentation of Android solutions and code

Desirable

• Competent with task/ticket management tools such as JIRA

• Competent with persistent storage solutions

• Competent with CI/CD solutions

• Competent with Kotlin Multiplatform

• Competent with Jetpack Compose

• Competent writing unit tests

• Understanding of HTML, CSS

• Understanding of JavaScript

• Understanding of Java for Android
