Describe your next role, cut the noise

Unstoppable starts with people. The future of payments is being built today, and at Paymentology, we are looking for people who want to help shape it. We power card issuing for leading banks, fintechs and digital brands across the globe, and as we continue to grow, we are looking for curious, ambitious people who thrive on solving complex challenges, embrace innovation and want to make a tangible impact at global scale.

We’re looking for an Implementations Project Manager to lead client projects from handover through to go-live. You’ll be the main coordination point for clients, internal teams, vendors, and card schemes—setting clear expectations, managing scope and timelines, and keeping risks and dependencies visible so projects keep moving.

This is a hands-on, client-facing role in a fast-paced payments environment. You’ll work across new client launches and additional products or phases for existing clients, partnering closely with Technical Implementation Managers, who lead technical setup, integration, and certification activities.

You’ll join a team that offers close support and practical onboarding while giving you the opportunity to take ownership and grow your expertise in issuing and payments.

If you’re an experienced project manager with issuing payments knowledge, strong client communication skills, and the confidence to drive work across multiple teams, we’d like to hear from you.

What you get to do

Project Planning & Delivery

- Lead projects from internal handover through client onboarding and go-live.

- Run client kick-off meetings, explain implementation phases, and agree objectives, scope, timelines, dependencies, and next steps.

- Build and maintain project plans, ensuring actions, owners, and milestones are clear.

- Coordinate a portfolio of new client implementations and additional phases or changes for existing clients.

- Keep delivery moving in a fast-paced environment where priorities and project needs can change.

Client & Stakeholder Management

- Manage day-to-day communication between clients, internal teams, vendors, and card schemes.

- Set clear expectations and keep discussions focused on agreed scope, actions, and timelines.

- Build effective working relationships with client stakeholders, including senior contacts.

- Hold stakeholders accountable for actions and raise concerns constructively when progress is at risk.

Cross-Functional Coordination

- Coordinate with Sales and Engagement teams to ensure a smooth handover into Implementation.

- Partner with Technical Implementation Managers, Infrastructure, Support, and other internal teams.

- Ensure required tickets, scheme projects, and internal actions are initiated and followed up.

- Work with Technical Implementation Managers, who lead product setup, integration questions, certification, and API walkthroughs.

Risk, Issue & Dependency Management

- Identify and track project risks, issues, actions, and dependencies using the RAID log.

- Review risks and client actions regularly and ensure owners and next steps are clear.

- Escalate blockers early and seek the support needed to mitigate delays.

- Coordinate with relevant teams and schemes to keep dependencies moving.

Documentation & Reporting

- Ensure Product Specification Forms are complete and aligned with implementation requirements.

- Maintain handover checklists, configuration documents, client metrics, and other project records.

- Provide clear updates on progress, risks, and decisions to clients and internal stakeholders.

- Help make new or evolving implementation approaches repeatable and well documented.

What it takes to succeed

- Solid experience managing projects, ideally in card payments, issuing, or a processing environment.

- Understanding of card issuing, card schemes, and the payments ecosystem.

- Experience working with schemes such as Visa or Mastercard is highly valuable.

- Strong planning and scoping skills, including the ability to clarify what is in and out of scope.

- Confident client communication and the ability to manage expectations with tact and firmness.

- Strong stakeholder management across clients, internal teams, vendors, and external partners.

- Practical experience identifying and managing project risks, issues, and dependencies.

- Technical aptitude to understand how systems and environments connect and to work effectively with technical teams. A software development or infrastructure engineering background is not required.

- Comfortable managing multiple projects with different levels of complexity.

- Adaptable, energetic, and able to stay effective when priorities shift or processes are still evolving.

- Curious and motivated to learn in a specialist payments environment.

- Familiarity with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or Asana, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

EMP or PINS 2 certification is welcome but not required. Experience with card bureau vendors or domestic switch schemes is also valuable.

If you’re ready to lead complex client implementations, keep stakeholders aligned, and help bring more payment programmes live, we want to hear from you.
