Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Director of Marketing to lead marketing for VETRO, a vertical SaaS business serving telecom operators and broadband organizations.

This is a hands-on, AI-forward leadership role for someone who can combine strong marketing judgment with a fundamentally different approach to how modern marketing work gets done. This leader will manage a small, high-impact internal team, build and deploy AI agents and automated workflows, and selectively use agencies and outside specialists where they provide differentiated expertise or leverage.

The goal is not to build a large marketing organization. It is to build a highly productive, AI-enabled marketing engine that delivers measurable growth.

Key Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
  • Demand Generation: Build a focused demand engine that creates qualified pipeline within our defined ICP.
    • Develop targeted, account-based programs for priority prospects.
    • Partner with Sales and Account Management to improve engagement, conversion, and pipeline.
    • Use AI and automation to scale research, personalization, campaigns, and optimization.
  • Customer Marketing: Turn our installed customer base into a systematic growth engine.
    • Drive adoption, expansion, cross-sell, and advocacy.
    • Partner with Sales, Account Management and Customer teams to identify and activate growth opportunities.
    • Build targeted programs based on customer needs, product usage, and expansion potential.
  • Product Marketing: Make our fiber management platform easy to understand, differentiate, and buy.
    • Own positioning, messaging, competitive differentiation, and go-to-market.
    • Translate complex capabilities into compelling outcomes for telecom operators.
    • Equip Sales, Account Management and Customer teams with the stories, use cases, and tools needed to win and expand.
  • Brand: Build a differentiated, credible, and modern position in the telecom market.
    • Own company positioning, messaging, and market presence.
    • Strengthen our voice across digital, content, thought leadership, events, and industry channels.
    • Ensure our brand reinforces our market expertise, innovation, and customer value.

AI-First Marketing Leadership

This is a defining requirement of the role. We are looking for someone who has moved beyond simply using ChatGPT or AI tools to work faster. This leader should understand how to redesign marketing workflows around AI.

They should be capable of:

  • Building AI agents that perform meaningful marketing work with limited human intervention.
  • Creating agentic workflows for research, campaign development, content production, competitive intelligence, customer insights, personalization, reporting, and analysis.
  • Connecting AI capabilities with CRM, marketing automation, customer data, product information, and other systems.
  • Determining what should be done by people, AI/agents, automation, or external partners.
  • Establishing appropriate human review and quality controls for AI-generated work.
  • Experimenting rapidly with emerging AI capabilities and translating successful experiments into scalable workflows.
  • Teaching the marketing team and other GTM functional areas how to operate effectively in an AI-enabled environment.
  • Measuring the actual productivity and business impact created by AI.

The expectation is that this leader will personally create, test, and deploy AI agents and workflows, not simply direct others to do so.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of B2B marketing experience with meaningful leadership responsibility.
  • Experience in vertical SaaS, telecom, broadband, infrastructure, GIS, network management, or another complex technical market strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate pipeline within a clearly defined enterprise or mid-market ICP.
  • Meaningful experience with customer marketing and expansion, not solely net-new acquisition.
  • Strong product marketing capabilities for sophisticated SaaS or technology platforms.
  • Strong positioning, messaging, storytelling, and writing skills.
  • Experience leading a lean internal team while effectively managing agencies, contractors, and specialist partners.
  • Strong financial judgment around marketing investment and demonstrated willingness to stop spending on activities that do not produce results.
  • Highly analytical and comfortable being measured against pipeline, expansion, adoption, conversion, and revenue.
  • A true player-coach who is as comfortable building something personally as they are setting strategy and leading others.

Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation package commensurate with experience.
    • $160,000 to $200,000 OTE (base + bonus)
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans with 401K match, remote work stipend, Learning & Development fund, and flexible vacation and PTO.
  • Professional development opportunities and career growth within an innovative and rapidly growing company.
  • Flexible work arrangements with a remote-first approach.
