Describe your next role, cut the noise

Salvo Health is a new approach to caring for the more than 100 million Americans living with chronic gut and metabolic conditions - from IBS and IBD to metabolic liver disease and obesity. Backed by leading venture capital investors with over $28 million raised, Salvo pairs patients with a whole-patient care team that includes registered dietitians, nurses, and GI-trained therapists, all guided by a technology stack built around evidence-based, personalized protocols.

Unlike episodic care, Salvo delivers continuous, app-based support seven days a week—using RPM and insurance-covered codes - in partnership with each patient’s existing local physician. We extend and enhance community GI care rather than displacing it. Our investors include operators and builders from Livongo, Ro, Ginger, Brightline, Tia, and other leading health innovators.

Salvo Health is transforming how patients access and experience GI care. We partner with leading GI MSOs and health systems to deliver data-driven, patient-centered solutions that improve outcomes and reduce costs.

\nAbout The Role:

Salvo Health is searching for a VP Finance to elevate and lead our financial operations as we work toward scaling growth following our Series A raise.

This is a fully remote role, that can be based anywhere within the United States, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer.

You'll own financial reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis; manage and mentor our current Finance and HR Manager; and act as a strategic and analytical partner to our CEO on fundraising and partner-facing financial matters. First 90-Day Deliverables: Rapidly assess current financial controls, refine the existing 18-month cash-flow forecast, and establish a streamlined variance analysis reporting cadence for the executive team.

This role is a strong fit for an experienced finance leader who wants real ownership and strategic scope.

What You Will Do:
  • Strategic Forecasting & Modeling: Own and refine the company's financial projection models (revenue, headcount, cash-flow), driving the strategic roadmap toward cash-flow break-even post-Series A.

  • Team Leadership & Delegation: Manage and mentor our existing Finance & HR Manager and Recruiter, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations (bookkeeping, AP/AR, payroll, and month-end close) so your hours remain focused on high-impact initiatives.

  • Fundraising & Board Strategy: Act as the financial co-pilot to the CEO and COO for venture fundraising, driving data room preparation, cap table scenario modeling, and presenting high-level performance metrics directly to the board.

  • Healthcare Commercial Analysis: Develop payer- and partner-facing financial models—specifically analyzing unit economics and contract structures for our specialty virtual care services—to support critical commercial and partnership discussions.

  • Cash & Resource Strategy: Advise leadership on a strategic approach to cash management, banking relationships, and optimal budget allocation across clinical and operational departments.

  • Financial Reporting & Controls: Oversee the delivery of accurate monthly and quarterly financial reporting, while maintaining internal controls appropriate for a scaling, venture-backed organization like variance and scenario analyses.

  • Compensation & Benefits Strategy: Oversee the financial architecture of HR operations, including compensation banding, annual benefits renewal negotiations, and payroll compliance.

  • Headcount Planning & HR Budgeting: Partner with the Finance & HR Manager to model headcount costs, track employee acquisition spend, and ensure the HR technology stack aligns with Salvo Health's operational budget. Determine staffing projections and work with Recruiter to ensure adequate staffing.

  • Payroll & Compliance Oversight: Serve as the final executive escalation point for payroll execution, state-level employment tax compliance, and benefit program funding for a remote workforce.

What you bring to the team:
  • 8+ years of progressive finance experience, including experience as a VP of Finance or similar senior finance leader, ideally at a venture-backed startup.

  • Experience working with virtual health care delivery or tech-enabled services companies

  • Proven track record building financial models, projections, and variance analyses in a fast-growing environment.

  • Experience managing or mentoring finance staff (e.g., a Controller or bookkeeper).

  • Direct experience supporting fundraising processes (e.g., Series A/B diligence, investor reporting).

  • Strong Excel/financial modeling skills; experience with QuickBooks or a similar accounting system; experience with enterprise ERP migration a plus.

  • Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy in a full-time, remote capacity.

  • Excellent communication skills — able to translate financial detail into clear, actionable insight for non-finance stakeholders.

  • Sound judgment and discretion handling sensitive financial and cap table information.

  • Personal passion for health and wellness topics preferred

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

  • Must be based and work in the United States
