About the role
We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead Quo's Mobile team, the engineers responsible for making our iOS and Android apps a best-in-class, first-class part of the Quo experience. Mobile is one of the most important bets we're making right now. Our customers increasingly run their business from their phone, and as we accelerate our roadmap across AI, revenue management, and task management, we're investing heavily to make sure our mobile experience keeps pace. You'll take an established core team of mobile engineers, grow it significantly, and shape how mobile is built at Quo.
This is a highly cross-functional role. Your team will support customer-facing initiatives across multiple product pillars, so your ability to collaborate (with other product engineering teams, with our Mobile Foundations platform team, and with product and design) will be one of the biggest drivers of your success. You'll also play a central role in raising the reliability and quality bar on our core phone experience, an area that increasingly sets us apart from competitors. As our mobile Engineering Manager, you'll bring a strong technical foundation in mobile, lead and develop the engineers on your team, and help define the practices that let mobile move fast without sacrificing quality. It's a role with a lot of room to grow.
Some of the things you'll do:
- Lead, develop, and grow a team of mobile engineers, setting a high bar for engineering quality, collaboration, and individual career development
- Grow an established core mobile team, owning hiring and onboarding as we roughly double the team and invest in mobile as a first-class surface
- Partner closely with product managers, designers, and engineers across multiple pillars to ship customer-facing mobile features, keeping mobile at or near parity as we roll out AI, revenue management, and task management
- Collaborate with our Mobile Foundations (platform) team to align on shared architecture, tooling, and how features are built and shipped
- Raise the reliability and quality bar on our core phone experience on mobile, a key differentiator against competitors
- Define and mature Quo's mobile engineering practices as the team and domain grow
- Provide technical guidance to your team, bringing clarity to the problem space and empowering engineers to own their decisions
About you
- Some experience leading a mobile engineering team. You may be earlier in your management journey, including a recent move from a senior IC role into management, and looking to take the next step
- A strong technical background in mobile engineering. As our first dedicated mobile EM, you'll need the depth to earn your team's trust and engage credibly on technical decisions
- Experience collaborating across multiple teams and stakeholders, bringing clarity and structure when several teams are competing for your team's time
- A track record of delivering results in a fast-moving product environment, with a focus on quality and reliability
- Strong communication and people-leadership skills, with genuine care for growing and developing engineers
- Experience with, or enthusiasm for, AI technologies and their practical application in product
Nice to have:
- Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP), or a background in native iOS or Android engineering. We're not precious about the exact stack, but familiarity with how we build would help you ramp faster
- Experience growing or scaling a team at a similar stage organization
