Risk Manager (Card Issuing)
Reap
Global stablecoin-native infrastructure enabling cross-border payments, issuing, and API access.
Describe your next role, cut the noise
Reap is a global financial technology company headquartered in Hong Kong with employees across multiple countries. We enable financial connectivity and access for businesses worldwide by combining traditional finance with stablecoins for efficient money movement.
Through our stablecoin-powered corporate cards, payments, and expense management tools, we streamline financial operations and help businesses scale. Our APIs enable businesses to integrate stablecoin-enabled finance into their own products and services—from issuing Visa cards to facilitating cross-border payments.
Backed by leading investors including Acorn Pacific, Index Ventures and HashKey Capital, Reap is building the future of borderless, stablecoin-enabled finance.
Why Reap? This is a high-impact, senior individual contributor role at the frontier of stablecoin-powered finance. You'll join a lean, experienced risk team and own strategic projects that directly shape how Reap expands into new markets. You'll be part of building the risk infrastructure that makes growth possible. If you're energised by ownership, complex problem-solving, and working at the intersection of traditional finance and emerging technology, this is where you belong.
What You’ll DoLead new market expansion risk — own fraud risk management across card issuing products as Reap expands into new APAC markets, ensuring controls, configurations, and scheme policy requirements are aligned from launch and maintained ongoing.
Drive BIN sponsorship risk governance — evaluate and onboard new BIN sponsorship clients through structured risk analysis, establish initial risk configurations, and maintain governance oversight of the sponsored portfolio on an ongoing basis.
Automate and scale operational risk monitoring — design and implement automated monitoring workflows covering fraud alerts, scheme notifications, and client and merchant-level risk signals, reducing manual intervention and improving response times.
Champion fraud incident investigation & response — lead deep-dive fraud investigations, BIN attack incident response, post-mortems, and cross-functional coordination.
Build risk intelligence with the data team — own and build the risk dashboards and intelligence the team relies on, partnering with the data team to surface fraud and risk signals. With no dedicated risk data analyst today, you'll shape how risk data is presented and acted on.
Deliver client-facing risk advisory — work closely with clients to assess their risk appetite, quantify fraud exposure, and define the controls and thresholds appropriate to their business model, acting as a trusted risk partner throughout the relationship.
Elevate the team's data-driven approach — leverage risk metrics, dashboards, and analytical tools to make and communicate evidence-based decisions across stakeholders.
8+ years of experience in risk management within a card issuer or acquirer environment, with deep knowledge of card fraud, disputes, and risk operations
Strong fraud and risk management background, ideally in card issuing or payments/acquiring
Fintech or tech-company experience strongly preferred — you thrive in lean, fast-moving teams and bring the pace and pragmatism that larger, slower-moving organisations often lack
Self-driven ownership — you drive projects from beginning to end without day-to-day guidance, spotting problems and proposing solutions rather than waiting for direction
Project management — you set timelines, track progress, and surface blockers proactively
Stakeholder management — you communicate clearly and translate complex risk topics for non-technical audiences
Outcome-oriented — you frame your work in terms of metrics and business impact, not just activity
Risk analytics and presentation — strong risk analytics paired with the ability to present risk clearly to stakeholders; less about deep SQL or modelling, more about turning data into a clear story (SQL is a bonus, not a must)
Demonstrated ability to manage strategic projects across multiple functions and geographies simultaneously
Background in a high-growth fintech, payments, or startup environment
Experience at a leading modern payments or card platform
Familiarity with stablecoin or web3 financial infrastructure
Experience with data and BI tools such as Looker, Snowflake, or similar platforms
Flexible hybrid/remote work environment with a global, collaborative team.
Insurance coverage after probation.
Use of AI tools at work — and the space to learn, experiment, and grow with them.
A culture of innovation, inclusion, and continuous learning.
