The Opioid Epidemic is a public health crisis with a highly effective but underutilized clinical intervention - millions of Americans are physically dependent on Opioids but only 10% of those likely to have OUD actually access treatment. Bicycle Health addresses this gap by maximizing accessibility, affordability, and overall quality of care by enabling highly qualified clinicians to reach patients broadly and efficiently through our online platform.
As our Director of Revenue Cycle Management, you’ll sit at the center of Bicycle Health’s rapid expansion—partnering directly with our CFO and cross-functional leaders to revolutionize our billing and collections engine from the ground up.
Target Pay Range: $150,000-$185,000 + Equity - Compensation to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

What you'll do:
- Operate and manage the Athena EHR billing system.
- Manage the offshore Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) vendor to ensure timely billing, collections, and the completion of the month-end close.
- Identify and mitigate potential risk and compliance issues
- Educate teams on emerging billing guidelines, telehealth regulations, and behavioral health practices.
- Partner closely with Compliance to ensure full adherence to state and federal regulatory requirements.
- Direct daily operations for the billing, financial coordination, and financial counseling teams, driving productivity and high team satisfaction.
- Train and mentor team members on RCM best practices and industry benchmarks to improve key metrics and foster accountability.
- Own end-to-end revenue cycle transformation projects, including code optimization and expanding coverage under Value-Based Care (VBC) and Fee-for-Service (FFS) contracts.
- Collaborate with Accounting to ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations to automate claims billing processes and rapidly resolve system billing issues.
- Define and report on core revenue cycle KPIs to leadership.
- Coordinate cross-functionally (Marketing, Payor Relations, Clinical Ops, CSS) to plan and execute new payor launches.
- Lead end-to-end project management for new payment structures as Bicycle Health expands program offerings.
- Evaluate and implement new RCM software and technology systems.
What we are looking for:
- At least 10 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management.
- At least 5 years of supervisory experience.
- Certified billing or coding certification required.
- Experience with Athena EHR billing system preferred
- Expertise in telemedicine billing and coding for SUD/OUD/G Codes.
- Working knowledge of industry best practices in Revenue Cycle processes: billing, charge capture, contractual adjustments, third-party reimbursements, and collections and cash management.
- Fundamental knowledge of revenue integrity (i.e. CPT and ICD-10 coding) and documentation requirements for billing and compliance.
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills.
- Persistence when working/communicating with payers.
- Experience working cross-functionally with different teams.
- Experience project managing internal projects.
- Comfortable working with the ambiguity of a fast-paced startup.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail, exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Degree in health administration or related degree preferred.
- Consistent access to a private work environment with high speed internet and professionally appropriate surroundings for frequent video conferencing and a workstation setup conducive to remote work needs.
This is a full-time (40hrs per week) remote position.
