Job Details: Job Location: Naperville Office - Naperville, IL, Position Type: Part Time, Education Level: Graduate Degree, Salary Range: $70000.00 - $75000.00Salary/year, Travel Percentage: Up to 25%, Overview Surf Internet seeks a part-time attorney licensed in Illinois with approximately 3-5 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have litigation or dispute-resolution experience and be comfortable handling a broad range of legal issues in a fast-paced business environment. This role is primarily focused on dispute management, litigation support, regulatory matters, compliance, legal research, and day-to-day business counseling. The successful candidate must be comfortable operating independently in a lean legal department without dedicated legal assistant support. Reports To:             Vice President and Corporate Counsel Department:            Legal Job Status:              Exempt   Responsibilities: Assist with litigation, pre-litigation disputes, and claims management. Draft demand letters, settlement agreements, releases, and related correspondence. Coordinate with and manage outside counsel. Investigate and help resolve disputes involving customers, contractors, property owners, vendors, and other third parties. Support regulatory, permitting, compliance, and government affairs matters. Provide practical legal guidance to business and operational teams. Conduct legal research and prepare concise guidance memoranda. Develop policies, forms, and internal procedures. Review routine commercial agreements and identify legal risks when needed. Independently manage assigned matters, maintain organized files, track deadlines, and handle related administrative tasks without dedicated legal support staff. Qualifications: Qualifications J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school. Active Illinois law license in good standing. Eligible to practice law in Illinois without restriction. 3-5 years of legal experience preferred. Litigation, dispute resolution, or claims management experience strongly preferred. Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills. Ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice. Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently. Demonstrated ability to manage legal matters with minimal supervision and without reliance on a legal assistant. Experience with telecommunications, construction, real estate, regulatory, municipal, or utility matters is a plus. What We Are Looking For Business-minded and solutions-oriented.
