About the Role
We are seeking a Principal Product Analyst to own product and partner analytics for our insurance marketplace. This role is central to ensuring that our product management, engineering, and business development teams have clear, trusted analysis of the full user funnel and accurate partner-facing reporting they can use to run the business.
Success in this role requires the ability to drive analysis projects from idea through delivery, communicate clearly with both internal teams and external partners, and deliver quickly without sacrificing rigor.
What You'll Do
Drive & Democratize Product Analytics: Analyze user behavior across the full marketplace funnel, from traffic acquisition and quoting through carrier placement and retention, to identify opportunities and quantify the impact of product changes. Create reusable analysis frameworks that will allow colleagues to perform their own analyses.
Own Provider Analytics: Partner with our Provider Engineering team to successfully launch new monetization partners (i.e., insurance companies that pay us for generating policies for them). Serve as the trusted expert and owner of provider data, including revenue, policy retention, and compensation structures.
Build Trusted, Self-Serve Reporting: Develop and maintain Looker dashboards and partner-facing reporting that executives and external partners rely on.
Investigate Data Questions End-to-End: Root-cause anomalies and reconcile discrepancies anywhere from raw event data to the modeled analytics layer and communicate findings crisply to technical and non-technical audiences.
Strengthen the Analytics Layer: Contribute well-tested SQL, metric definitions, and documentation back into our analytics codebase (LookML) so insights become durable assets rather than one-off answers.
What You’ll Need
5+ years of analytics experience, including 3+ years in product or marketplace analytics, with a track record of proactive analysis that delivered measurable impact.
Expert-level SQL skills, including the ability to write efficient, production-grade queries against large cloud data warehouses.
Strong BI and dashboarding experience, with a track record of building reporting used by executives and external partners.
Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously, take ownership of unowned problems, and follow through in a fast-paced environment.
Clear, concise, and professional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to drive internal alignment and manage external partner relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with BigQuery, Looker, or dbt.
Experience in marketplace, ad tech, or insurtech environments.
Experience incorporating AI tools into analytics workflows.
