About Nexus Black

Nexus Black is an AI-first business within IFS, built to move quickly, challenge traditional ways of working, and turn the potential of AI into real-world outcomes for enterprise customers. We build AI to solve hard problems for the industries that keep the world turning: up on power lines, down on factory floors, and out in the field.

Our products — Resolve (field service and predictive maintenance), Flow (production planning), Comply (regulatory compliance) and Reason (analytical reasoning) — are used by technicians and engineers who cannot afford a tool that doesn't work first time. We pair 40 years of IFS industrial depth with the technical pace of a start-up, and we get results in weeks, not months.

We're building a team of highly capable, high-ownership people who are comfortable operating across traditional boundaries. We care less about rigid job descriptions and more about people who can understand a problem, get hands-on, and own the outcome.

The role

Nexus Black is growing, and so is our client base in APAC. We are looking for our first hire on the ground in the region: someone who can represent that expansion, build real relationships with our clients there, and build great products alongside the rest of the team.

This is the Lead AI Product Specialist role for APAC: part domain expert, part pre-sales

specialist, part trusted advisor, and, because we are small and flat, the person who builds great products. You will be the customer’s voice inside our build process and our clearest voice inside theirs, across the region.

The word “lead” here is about scope and judgement, not headcount. You will not inherit a team, a playbook, or a funnel. You will build the first version of all three, hands on, while carrying real customer work from day one. If the appeal of a regional role is the org chart, this is not it. If the appeal is deciding what a market looks like and then going and doing it, read on.

What you’ll do

Be the customer before the customer shows up. You know a domain, whether a vertical like

energy, utilities, manufacturing, or aerospace, or a function like Finance, HR, Tax, HSE, Audit, IT, or Asset Management, well enough to stand in for the people who work in it. When we design an AI workflow for a reliability engineer or a tax analyst, you are that person in the room, shaping the workflow so it fits how the job is actually done. You own the evals: you define what accurate looks like for a customer, oversee the evaluation of outputs against it, and hold the line. If it wouldn’t convince a 30-year veteran, it doesn’t ship.

Show prospects what this means for their business. You will work alongside sales to help

prospects and customers understand what we’re building. Not the hype version, the real one. What it does, what it doesn’t, and what it changes for their operation, in terms an operations director can take to their board.

Stay after the pilot. We don’t ghost customers after the pilot, and neither will you. You will work with customers to extend their workflows as their operations change, and spot the next hard problem worth solving together.

Set the direction for the region, then go prove it. Which markets and industries we go after

first, which reference customers matter, what has to be true locally for a workflow to land: data residency, languages, shift patterns, how buying decisions actually get made. You will form a view, argue it with the rest of us, and then be the one who proves it in the field. As the region grows, you will shape who joins next and how we work here.

Be the person the region knows. You will be the senior face of Nexus Black in APAC on

customer sites, at industry events, and inside IFS’s regional teams, turning existing IFS

relationships into serious AI conversations.

What you bring

• Seniority you’re willing to use as an IC. You may be a Head of Product, Director, or VP

today. What matters is that you still want to be in the workflow, in the eval, and in the room

with the customer. Everyone here contributes as an individual contributor, including our most

senior people.

• Deep domain expertise. Real time served in one of our industries (energy, utilities, field

service, manufacturing, aerospace, defence, telecoms) or in a function that runs through all

of them, enough to think like the personas we build for, not just describe them.

• Fluency with AI products. You can shape workflows, judge model outputs, and design

evaluations. You know the difference between a good demo and a system that holds up in

week six.

• Pre-sales instincts. You can explain a complex capability to a sceptical plant manager

without a deck full of jargon, and connect it to money, uptime, and risk.

• Regional range. Real experience selling, delivering, or operating across more than one

APAC market, and the judgement to know how differently the same industry behaves in

each.

• An advisor’s judgement. Customers should leave every conversation with you knowing

more about their own operation. You spot opportunities without turning every call into a pitch.

• An evidence habit. You back claims with numbers. When the evidence is missing, you say

so and go find it.

• Comfort with an unfinished picture. First hires work without local precedent. You will ask

for help across time zones, make calls with incomplete information, and be accountable for

them.

How we work

Flat, small, and deliberately so. No layers to brief and no committee to convince, but also no one to hand things to. Decisions get made by the people closest to the customer, which will often be you. We’d rather tell you that plainly than discover in month three that you wanted something else.

Where you’ll work

Singapore, remote. This role doesn’t tie you to an office. It ties you to customers. Expect regular travel across the region and regular time on site: plants, hangars, ride-alongs with field technicians. We’ll save you a high-vis.

Come and solve hard problems with us.
