Your Company:

Feathr's software marketing platform equips nonprofits with the tools they need to build purposeful connections with their community and grow impact with confidence.
We're working on building an amazing culture at Feathr, where amazing people (like you) can do their best work. If you're ready to grow and "help the helpers" you've come to the right place.
VP of EngineeringSalary Range: $200,000- $250,000 annually
Additional Compensation: Annual performance bonus + Equity
Benefits: Fully Remote, Health/ dental/ vision, Paid Vacation/ sick/ holidays
Your Work:
The VP of Engineering at Feathr leads our Engineering teams as we focus on refining, hardening, and improving our existing product — not scaling headcount or chasing rapid growth. This is a maturity and craftsmanship role: you'll drive a technology vision centered on usability, reliability, and customer experience, and you'll build the management structure and technical rigor needed to sustain a healthy, high-quality product over the long run.
You'll work closely with our tech leads to raise the bar on execution, mentorship, and process, while staying closely connected to the day-to-day work of the team. You'll be a thought partner to the CEO on where and how engineering investment should go to improve the product our customers already rely on.
Your Experience:
6+ years of engineering leadership experience, ideally including time leading through a mature/steady-state product phase (not just hypergrowth)
10+ years of formal software development experience
Experience developing tech leads into engineering managers, or building a management layer where none previously existed
Experience driving the adoption, rollout, and governance of AI coding tools across engineering teams and managing impact metrics, and genuinely excited to lead the team into its next chapter with agentic AI
Deep knowledge of modern software architecture, cloud infrastructure, and development practices
Track record improving product quality, performance, or usability in an established codebase, not just shipping net-new features
B2B SaaS experience strongly preferred; MarTech or adjacent verticals a plus
Your Qualities:
Motivated by refinement and craftsmanship, not just growth for its own sake. Takes real satisfaction in making an existing product better.
Comfortable operating without a management layer already in place; can coach and develop tech leads.
Balances strategic thinking with hands-on involvement. Comfortable in architecture and code-quality discussions as well as roadmap planning.
Instinctively connects engineering decisions back to customer experience and usability outcomes.
Uses quality, reliability, and customer-experience metrics to guide priorities, not just velocity.
Pragmatic, organized, and detail-oriented, with the judgment to know when "good enough" is right and when it isn't.
Strong communicator who can move fluidly between engineering, executive, and customer-facing audiences.
Your Day:
Partner with the CEO to define the technology vision and operating plan focused on product quality, usability, and customer experience
Identify and prioritize technical debt, performance, and reliability improvements alongside customer-facing enhancements
Build out engineering management capability by coaching and developing tech leads, and determine where formal management roles are needed
Oversee planning and execution of product refinements and upgrades, ensuring quality and service readiness
Own all managerial responsibilities for the org: budget, performance management, and career development for tech leads and the broader team
Define, track, and report on metrics that matter for a maturing product: defect rates, performance, uptime/reliability, support resolution time, and customer satisfaction
Balance individual customer needs and support escalations with broader product priorities
Collaborate daily with Product, Customer Success, Managed Services, and other cross-functional stakeholders
Define and continuously improve the technical support triage process and stakeholder touchpoints
Make judgment calls on where to invest limited engineering capacity for the highest customer impact
Participate in customer calls as needed to represent the technical perspective
Maintain clear documentation of engineering processes, decisions, and standards
Lead Feathr’s AI transformation. With Claude access already in place org-wide, you’ll turn that access into capability by shaping practices and standards that help the team build faster and better.
