Training Specialist

US Salary Range: $50,600 - $60,000

We are looking to hire a Training Specialist to support Bonterra's Learning & Training team by producing customer-facing educational content and facilitating virtual learning experiences for nonprofit customers. This role is well-suited for a learning professional who is building their instructional skills and is comfortable working from established templates, scripts, and guidelines. The Training Specialist is expected to execute assigned work reliably, ask good clarifying questions, and grow toward independent ownership of standard content types.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Host virtual customer events for Bonterra's nonprofit customers, delivering a professional, welcoming, and well-paced online learning experience.
• Facilitate scripted live webinars for Bonterra customers, following standard agendas and lesson plans with accuracy and confidence.
• Produce educational videos using existing templates, scripts, and AI production tools (including Synthesia), applying provided QA checklists before any content is customer-facing.
• Keep LMS content accurate and current so customers encounter up-to-date information.
• Answer customer questions during live sessions in a respectful and informative manner, escalating off-script or complex questions appropriately.
• Communicate proactively when deliverable timelines are at risk.
• Collaborate with teammates and ask clarifying questions before beginning work to ensure the training produced addresses the actual customer need.
• Apply async-first learning principles as guided, including structuring content for self-paced consumption.
   

Required Skills & Abilities

• Ability to assess training needs through stakeholder consultation before developing or delivering content — treats each request as a starting point, not a confirmed solution.
• Ability to independently conduct basic needs assessments with internal stakeholders (e.g., Customer Success) for standard content types.
• Proficiency in developing training content from provided designs, templates, and scripts, with a working understanding of async-first learning principles.
• Ability to facilitate live virtual training sessions from detailed guides, including managing unexpected questions in the moment and ensuring appropriate follow-up.
• Ability to independently structure standard content types (feature walkthroughs, onboarding modules) for self-paced consumption, including knowledge checks and removal of facilitator-dependent interactions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated comfort presenting to large virtual audiences.
• Strong attention to detail and time management, with a consistent ability to meet content deadlines and keep live sessions on schedule.
• Proficiency using AI production tools (e.g., Synthesia, Claude) in accordance with established templates and workflows.
• Commitment to quality assurance for AI-generated content, including consistent use of QA checklists and proactive issue escalation prior to customer delivery.
• Ability to independently learn new tools through self-directed exploration.
• Clear and proactive communicator who keeps immediate teammates informed and avoids creating blockers for cross-functional partners.
• Ability to complete assigned deliverables on time, with a proactive approach to surfacing risks and requesting guidance when needed.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining consistent quality standards.
   

Technical & Working Requirements

• Reliable internet connection and professional home office setup suitable for virtual facilitation.
• Ability to present and facilitate remotely for extended periods.
• Comfort with video conferencing platforms (Zoom or equivalent) and virtual classroom management.
