About the role:

DuploCloud is looking for a Solutions Architect with a demonstrated background in cloud technologies, DevOps and platform engineering, and AI-driven automation, who drives customer success through solution architecture. This is a customer-facing technical pre-sales role: you will work hand-in-hand with the Sales organization from the first technical conversation with a prospect through a successful proof of concept, deal conversion, and hand-off to our Onboarding and Forward Deployed Engineering teams. The heart of the role is understanding how a prospect actually runs operations today and then showing them, concretely and in their own terms, how DuploCloud solves their pain points.

What you will do:

  • Lead technical discovery conversations with prospects' DevOps, platform engineering, SRE and engineering leadership to deeply understand their current ops workflows: how they provision environments, ship releases, manage Terraform and Kubernetes, respond to incidents, and enforce security and compliance, and where the toil, bottlenecks and risk live.
  • Map the prospect's workflows onto DuploCloud's 70/30 model: identify which parts are already covered by the platform's built-in capabilities and Agent library, and isolate the custom, organization-specific piece that needs to be built.
  • Design and build a custom agent tailored to the prospect's specific use case, using the DuploCloud Coding Assistant and DevKit to define the policy model, write skills and generate the workflow UX, so the prospect can see their own ops workflow running as a governed, multi-user agent and fully understand how DuploCloud solves their pain points.
  • Deliver compelling live demos and scoped proofs of concept (PoC/PoV), on a laptop or in the prospect's cloud, that prove value on a real workflow and create a clear path to a technical win.
  • Perform detailed infrastructure assessments of prospects' existing environments and produce cost calculators, business ROI plans, and migration and implementation project plans.
  • Own technical objection handling, architecture and security reviews, and build-vs-buy conversations with both technical audiences and executives.
  • Partner closely with the Onboarding and Forward Deployed Engineering teams for a successful hand-off, carrying forward the context and custom agents designed during the pre-sales cycle.
  • Feed field learnings back to Product and Engineering, and contribute reusable Agents, skills and demo assets to our Agent library.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience as a solutions architect, cloud architect, DevOps/platform engineer, or SRE, including time spent working with both customers and internal teams in a pre-sales, consulting, or delivery capacity.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP); on-prem infrastructure experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, ECS and similar container orchestration technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of Terraform and similar IaC technologies, and of CI/CD systems (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Argo CD).
  • Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants and agentic tooling (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, or similar), and a working understanding of MCP, skills/prompt design, and LLM trade-offs such as model selection, token cost, and human-in-the-loop controls. You will use these daily to build custom Agents for prospects.
  • Proven ability to run technical discovery: ask the right questions to map a prospect's ops workflow end to end, identify where the toil and risk live, and translate that into a scoped, demonstrable solution.
  • Problem solver who can interpret sophisticated problem statements, boil them down into simple solutions, and collaborate with prospects and channel partners.
  • Strong presenter and demo storyteller, equally comfortable in a business and technical context, whether working with executives or talking shop with technical audiences.
  • Able to produce clear written artifacts: solution architectures, PoC plans, cost calculators, ROI models, and migration/implementation plans.
  • Working understanding of security and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI) as they apply to cloud infrastructure and AI-driven automation.
  • Scripting or programming proficiency (e.g., Python, Bash, Go) sufficient to build and debug Agents, skills, and integrations.
  • Dynamic team member who will both teach and learn from all of us on the Solutions Engineering team; open to giving and receiving feedback, tolerant of failure, and passionate about making clients successful.
  • Enjoy helping customers through their infrastructure and AI transformation, from the first discovery call through a successful PoC and hand-off to onboarding.
  • Experience with platform engineering / IDP tooling (e.g., Backstage), observability stacks, or early-stage startup environments.
